Steve Paikin: An Intimate Biography of Canada's 17th Prime Minister

Steve Paikin: An Intimate Biography of Canada's 17th Prime Minister
The Herle Burly

I’m really looking forward to this conversation today. For a couple of reasons. One is the guy I’m talking to. The other is the subject matter. Steve Paikin is not only a 2 -time Herle Burly guest and friend of the pod, he’s also a great friend of mine. Some of the reasons I love him: He’s a fellow passionate CFL fan. He’s an involved Canadian. And as a reporter and journalist, he’s at least 45% less cynical about politics and politicians.

Steve gives those who enter our political arena the time to talk and express their ideas and he listens closely and takes their words seriously. You know Steve from the TVO’s flagship current affairs program The Agenda. He’s also a filmmaker and author. His latest book has just launched. It’s about one of my heroes: “John Turner: An intimate biography of Canada’s 17th Prime Minister.” I’m so happy we’re talking about this book and this man, so let’s start.
