We’ve got a good one for you today so let’s get right to it. Dr. David Nabarro is our guest. His C.V. is long and accomplished, so here’s just a few relevant pieces. David’s the former Special Advisor to the UN on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Climate Change. He’s the Co-Lead of the food workstream of the UN Global Crisis Response Group. And just a couple of weeks ago, David was the keynote speaker at Maple Leaf’s Food Security Symposium in Toronto. A true global leader in advancing equitable food systems, he’s coming to The Herle Burly today from Geneva. So, that’s our broad topic: Food Security.
Closer to home, it may surprise you to hear that over 5.8 million Canadians struggle with it. Just how prevalent is food insecurity globally? How does it relate to both agriculture and climate change? And how does food insecurity happen in rich countries like Canada in the first place?
